[Thinlinc-technical] mouse stops working in thinlinc session

We're running thinlinc 4.7.0-5280 on a server with RedHat Enterprise Linux 7.3, to provide sessions for users from a range of clients (linux, windows, mac, all with thinlinc clients downloaded in the past few months).
Three users this year have experienced the situation of a session where the mouse has stopped having any effect, and a remote cursor is not seen. We wonder if this is a trouble that others have experienced and solved?
----------------------
Further information:
Reconnecting to the session did not help: still the mouse had no effect.
Connecting using the system's bundled tigerVNC viewer (by copying the session key from /var/opt/thinlinc/sessions/* ) also gave the same problem.
Other users' thinlinc sessions were running at the same time, but were not affected.
The affected sessions had been running some time -- days or weeks. But other users' sessions had also done that without problem.
The affected sessions have so far been using the default Gnome desktop. Various simulation programs have been in use. Successively killing running applications has not restored the mouse.
Killing the whole session and starting a new one removed the problem. (But this is undesirable if long calculations have been going on in applications that don't automatically save their results.)
I can't currently give more information than this, as the problem has only arisen "every few session-months". We will try some other desktop environments, and see if any later occurrences are related to users running particular applications. We might also try some users in plain tigervnc to see if similar troubles occur.

Best wishes,
Nathaniel
