[Thinlinc-technical] How to monitor vsmserver remotely

Hi list

I'm wondering, what is the best way to monitor vsmserver (9000/tcp) 
remotely? Since it speaks HTTP, I'm thinking about a HTTP request which 
returns a successful 2xx, but cursory tests with wget only produced 400.

Any hints?
