While I am at it, there is this disturbing entry in the
vsmserver.log

2013-07-12 21:53:38 WARNING vsmserver: Failed to find client IP in ['/var/log/secure', '/var/log/auth.log', '/var/log/messages']

skipping the irritating fact that vsmserver seems to be looking in
a file for information that is easily spoofable using logger, I
wonder if the fact that I am connecting via ipv6 is somehow
confusing the parser ...
