Great. i3 seems to be a fairly modern project, so you might want to
file a feature request with them.

To the best of our knowledge, yes. Are there any error messages from i3
that might hint at what it doesn't like?

Unfortunately people couldn't really decide on a single width for that
height, so there are monitors of both varieties. No idea which is most
common, so we just picked one for the pre-defined list.

Shouldn't be a practical issue since new modes can be added.
