[Thinlinc-technical] Performance issue in ThinLinc 3.0.0

One of the major new features in ThinLinc 3.0.0 was a heavily optimized
compression CODEC that gave enough performance to allow running video
and 3D applications remotely. Unfortunately we've now discovered a
small glitch in the ThinLinc client that can disable this performance
enhancement.
The bug only appears on high-speed LANs where the client never
decreases picture quality to reduce bandwidth usage. To see if you're
affected, press F8 in a running ThinLinc session and select "Connection
info". If the last used encoding reads ZRLE, then you are using an
inferior CODEC and will not get the new performance enhancements.
To work around the issue, go into "Options", "Optimzation" and deselect
"Auto select". Also make sure that the quality setting is set between 6
and 8 to get a reasonable tradeoff between bandwidth and quality.
This problem is fixed in the soon to be release version 3.1.0 where it
is again safe to use the automatic mode.
