hi Philippe,

I am running a separate agent for each user in the form of LXC containers: light-weight for each user, total isolation from other users, very fast to start, and (using cloning from a template LXC container) very quickly to build for a new user.

With the "explicit_agent_selection" option in the master's "vsmserver.hconf", I direct which agent (running on physical host nearby the selected user) will serve a user 'locally'.

The master cluster is just acting for config redundancy, to direct each user to his own 'local' agent.

Maybe this way of working can help you too ?

cheers !
I want to setup a centralized TL mgmt. system but I want to have a
local point of access

For example : LAB A and LAB B both have mgr-A and mgr-B but both
don't want a developer in US making a TL request on a machine in EMEA
and being forwarded to a machine in his lab

I'm not entirely sure what you are asking here, but ThinLinc treats all machines in a cluster the same way. So there is no way to partition the cluster into e.g. US agents and EMEA agents. You'd have to have separate clusters with separate master machines for this.

We do have some ideas for changing this:

https://www.cendio.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=1981
https://www.cendio.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=5362

but it's nothing that we are looking at right now.
