[Thinlinc-technical] TLDC and Lubuntu/LXDE

Hello,

here we are using Lubuntu rather than Ubuntu+GNOME to provide a lightweight desktop to our users. Until now we haven't used the desktop customizer functionality in ThinLinc. Nevertheless we would like to have it properly running and be able to configure different user menus based on unix groups and/or profiles. So what we did is that we added link to like 35-tl-desktop-activate.sh to the /opt/thinlinc/etc/xstartup.d directory and tried to reconfigure the menu structure using the web administration ui.

Unfortunately this doesn't seem to work as we always get the default menu structure of lubuntu rather than the one we configured. Is there some hidden magic or thing we need to additionally do to get the desktop customizer working for lubuntu/LXDE as well? As far as we know LXDE uses the same menu structure as GNOME so shouldn't it in principle work the same?

Any help would be highly appreciated.

best regards,
jens
